Timothy P. Doman Honored for Excellence in Education and Agriculture
SHARON, PA, February 16, 2017, Timothy P. Doman, Retired Chairman of the Technology Education Department of Sharon City School District has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in Technology Education.
Doman had 38 years of professional experience prior to his retirement as the Chairman of the Technology Education Department of the Sharon City School District. Throughout his career, he has amassed a comprehensive skill set that includes computer-aided design, auto mechanics, welding and technology education, and farm management. Mr. Doman is a retired educator as of 2004. He now owns and operates his family farms, which have been in continuous production since 1941.
Looking back, Mr. Doman attributes his success to his ability to remain up-to-date and relate to his students, and his strong work ethic, which ensures the perpetual involvement of his students in their education. He chose a career in education because of his strong desire to help students achieve their career goals. The highlight of his career was planning and implementing a $2.5 million dollar renovation project for the technology education department on time and under budget to provide students with current skills. In recognition of his achievements, he was featured in Who's Who Among America's Teachers in 2005, 2004 and 2002.
Mr. Doman received a Bachelor of Science in industrial education from California University of Pennsylvania and an associate degree in agricultural technology from The Pennsylvania State University. He also completed graduate coursework through The Pennsylvania State University and Ohio Technical College and Community College of Allegheny County. He has maintained affiliation with the Sharon Teachers Association for 33 years and is a Life Member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, National Education Association, and the NRA. Mr. Doman also serves as Township Supervisor, Secretary/Treasurer of Buffalo Township, Washington County, PA. He is a former Chairman of Anti-Park Committee and Ordinance Committee.
He is in the process of setting up a memorial scholarship fund in memory of his father Lonnie T. Doman.
